GIFS

GIFS are short animations played over and over again. I have created Three for this project, Falling Soilder, the Banana Shop and Squirle Adventure. In falling soilder I played wit the colours to make the clouds look cool and change the toy soilder to look more green and ordinary to stick out. It was hard having him fall and using the least amount of frames. The second one Squirle adventure I actually drew the squirle with shapes and the brush. It was hard making his feet move with the squirle and not having them get too off. The plan for this was to have the squirle walk through the mirrows to alternate worlds.

The Amazing  Adventures Of Kirby!

Again I partnerd up with Alaina Eldridge to create this amazing claymation of The Amazing Adventures of Kirby!

Some tips to remember when creating a stop motion animation is:

1.Tape down the set so it doesn't move

2.Make sure when you are making the story bord write down everything from camera angles, to movments and sund affects.

3.It is really hard to have stuff fly in a animation, so make sure you uses something like a marinet to help stedy it (we used a pen).

This GIF was Created Not only for Media Arts But for My Advertising Project In my Business course. The assignment was come up with one traditional advertisment and one other advertisment that was out of the box. I thought a giff would be cool to use for this assignment. In this Animation I worked on the moemtns more and Drawing the Monkey.

Brain Storming

Before we started we made a story bord to write down our ideas. The story that we had come up with was Kirby relaxing on a beach when all of a suden he gets attacked by Bunnies and they start a snowball fight. Kirby is the defeated and starts crying. Thats when the Blue Ninja Kirby comes and saves the day. In the end they orriginaly had a party on the beach. We drew this on our story bord and on the back we wrote down each angles and sound affects we were going to use and cheeked it off on the way. We started filming the claymation but as you can see from our story bord we added to the story as we filmed. we didn't originally have a space ship in our planes but it just kinda came to mind when we were thinking of other scenes to create for the story. The space ship is personally my favorite part and I'm gald we thought of it!

What Is Stop Motion Animation?

Google definition: stop motion animation is a cinematic process, or technique used to makes static objects appear as if they were moving. This technique is commonly used in claymation and puppet-basedanimation.

My Definition: Is a series of photos taken of objects being moved little by little in each frame to cause the idea of movment. It could be anything from moving apples, pupets, clay, drawing, lights, really anything!

Here are some Stop Motion Animations that I find interesting:

Foxed-Foxed was one of the anaimations I saw while at a workshop at the University of Waterloo in Stratford. The person running the work shop and some of his colgeasue created this trailer and will be a full length stopmotion movie in a couple of years. This stop motion interests me because the pupets and the set is so detailed and they shot all of the photage so smothly its hard to tell that it wans't created with 3D animation.

If Only- If Only was a stop motion animation that I found on Youtube. I think its cool how they draw each picture to move along with the hands. I think its also cool how they combined stop motion with actuall fotage.
